HogwartsMOO was one of the first online Harry Potter themed roleplay games, and it is now celebrating its tenth year as an active MOO! The theme has split to an alternate universe, as none of the main characters from the books will ever show up, nor will the storylines contained in those books ever appear on-game. The game is set in the past, currently in the 1930's. There is ample opportunity for roleplay in any of a number of Wizarding areas, including, but not limited to Hogwarts, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, and players are welcome to play any number of wizarding roles, student and adult alike. We have a fully developed grid with useful commands for logging, pose retrieval, detailed character information and many, many other features contained in-game. We do not, however, have any coded spells or equipment, nor 'skill levels' or stats, prefering instead for players to use their imaginations and roleplay appropriately and responsibly. Please feel free to visit our website, read a log or two, and give us a visit! Roleplay veterans and newbies alike are welcome to give us a try!

HogwartsMOO is a Harry Potter-inspired roleplaying game, set originally in the early 1900's but now entering the 1920's on a 4:1 timescale (a term corresponds to seventeen weeks). Our theme is non-canon, capturing the charm of Wizarding society without Rowling's storyline. None of the novels' feature characters (or relatives) will ever appear in our world. Instead, key roles are held by player-created characters. Our focus is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but we have an extremely flexible creation system, allowing players to have multiple characters in roles ranging from infant to student (any year) to professional adult in any of several dozen magical careers (and we're open to more). Our goal is fun but realistic roleplay: we offer extensive help systems and infrastructure (such as personal logging, reposes-on-demand, and House points in hourglasses) and detailed areas such as London, Diagon Alley, Hogwarts (!), Hogsmeade, and the Forest. However, we have no coded spells or levels; our players are far more creative than code could ever be. Visit our webpage, check the Online Characters listing, read a few logs, and explore our world! We doubt you'll be disappointed.
