Arrant Destiny is a role-playing MUD based on the World of Greyhawk, my Lords Nerull and Boccob have sent me to tell you about Arrant Destiny. During the spring of 1995 Nerull and Boccob created our Greyhawk themed MUD. Ever since then, we have been working hard on a modified Envy 2.0. It now has these features: * 10 Classes, all classes now resemble their AD&D orgin. (Priest-Hextor Priest-Pholtus, Priest-Lolth, Mage, Warrior, Thief, Paladin, Druid, Ranger, Necromancer) * Many Races to select from, each with its own special abilities. (corpse eating, forest sneaking, magic resistance) * Priests/Druids/Rangers/Paladins have to pray for their spells. * Mages use spellbooks and must memorize a spell in order to cast them. * Players start in many different home cities with their own justice system. to limit pkilling within city boarders. * Mobs and players can use bows, spears, and slings to shoot projectiles. * Mob Programs and Object Programs as well as a new money system. * New wear locationes, New Spells, No level restrictions on equipment. No stock areas. So come and show how good a role-player you are. And see if you can take charge of your DESTINY. [2]

Having played many muds I can honestly say that this is one of the best out there. It was the first mud that I played and was introduced to it by a friend that had been playing there for quite a while. There are literally thousands of rooms to ecplore and almost as many mobs to kill. The imms are some of the best to be found with more new stuff being added all the time.

Good old arrant destiny.. Well where do i start. This was my first mud as well. I was so addicted to this mud, more then most people id assume. The last post of review was so long ago, things have changed. Basically, the administrators all left, leaving behind hot heads and power hungry immortals. This changed everything, with the powerful blow of losing the updated code as well. Now what is left is nothing i would call " arrant destiny" All of the players from over the years_gone. The immortal staff we used to see _gone. with 4-8 people playing at a time. In a simple summary of this mud. The era of arrant destiny is over. With sorry admin. no rp. an very unhealthy server, and lost respect for the mud, no wonder everyone has left, leaving behind only a shadow of what it used to be. RIP AD.

They just wnt through the third player wipe since I've been on (starting in 1996). This "new beginning" gave everyone a fresh start (the last wipe was roughly two years ago), but unfortunately the areas and some of the code has been reverted to from early 2001. Roleplay is ok, at best. The last attempt before the wipe was that of the addition of the anti-paladin class. One of the immortals and a girl he liked at the time tried to play out her "conversion" from paladin to following him. Unfortunately no one else in the game had any impact in this endeavor and it played out like a game of favorites. That, coupled with the level of "me troll, me smash", drove off a lot of the older players in search of real roleplay (and for other reasons). The high player count now (as of the last week or so) has averaged about 10 and doesn't look to get any higher in the forseable future. All in all, it used to be a nice place to play, but tarnish has settled in and there are few left to polish up the luster.

Arrant Destiny(AD) was my first MUD ever. Once I began I was instantly hooked. After playing Arrant Destiny I tried a couple other MUDS but there was just no competition. I have been playing for almost 2 years now and I am one of the regular players you will frequently see. The admins are very responsive to ideas submitted by all. The classes seem to be almost equally matched, so no matter what class you pick you will definately have fun learning everything there is to know about it. All players are responsive to newcomers and try to help out whenever they can. New areas are being added all the time so you never run out of places to explore. Roleplaying is one of the best part of the game; players submiting stories, immortals getting personally involved, and ingame quests along with immortal given quests. From my experience I have to say Arrant Destiny is the BEST MUD ever.

I have been playing there for 3-4 years now and i love it. Soo many places to go, and they add a new area every few months. The immortals are respnsive, and dieties, involving themselves in gameplay and promoting RP.
