In DUMII you start your life as a young adventurer, and then set out to explore the world to gain power as well as treasures, finding adventures and friends along the way. Unlike most other muds, you don't gain any experience for killing things, but there are still plenty of foes to fight. When the gods notice your progress, you are challenged with a quest to solve on your way to eternal fame and immortality. DUMII has a high quality standard with both its world and its features. Some of the features are: * Classless & raceless system (be any class/race you want). * Four different alignments, with different quests to solve. * Player-run guilds. * No rent for your saved equipment. * Very friendly parser. Either of 'get the egg from the basket.' or the abbreviated 'g e b' is valid. * Very newbie friendly, with well-written help pages and friendly players to help you. No detailed character creation. * An extensive list of original actions/socials is available to all players, with free-text emote commands available to responsible role-players as well. * Built-in macros/aliases, automapping and word wrapping. You can set your page width and page height, and the server will adapt to it. * There are no fixed colours anywhere; all colours can be changed to your own preferences. * Many games are available like Fourday's Bindings or Kalah. * You can buy your unique, personal home and it can be located almost anywhere in the world.

DUMII is a fantasy roleplaying adventure game set in a medieval environment. There are dragons to get slayed by, maidens to rescue as well as demons to admire in this unique land. Unlike many other muds, in DUMII you do not get any points for killing mobiles, instead finding and giving things to the gods is the way to get power, but of course valuable things are often guarded by their owners so fighting can and do happen. Just exploring the land is another way to gain some power, how much of it can you find? New levels and new spells require hard quests to be be completed. DUMII is a pretty hard game to play, but if you want a real challenge, its possible to turn on "permanent" death there you only keep your name after you die. There are also plenty of minor challenges in the form of Virtues with their own high score lists. The server has most client functionality built in, like aliases/macros, a mapping feature, command history and of course an excellent, configurable colour system. The parser is quite friendly, allowing you to write "g b 2 b" instead of the longer "get the bread from the 2nd bucket" (which is also valid of course) and most objects have multiple names to make it even easier to refer to them.

In the beginning, time was without meaning, life drifted around in the universe. All that existed was the void. But from the very essence of darkness and nothingness, the evil god AdA emerged. Without hesitation AdA assumed power, and created the world of DUMII with its seven suns and its moon. This took him seven days and uncountable nights. Suddenly the good god MiJak appeared, and before the surprised AdA could respond to the threat MiJak wrested a part of the world from AdA. The struggle was fierce and threatened to destroy the fragile new world. Now the neutral god Reset emerged, springing from the very essence of the world, blocking the fight between AdA and MiJak. Since this the world has been divided between the servants of AdA, MiJak and Reset. The world of DUM II is filled with strange creatures, some mortal and other immortal. In this world you can strife to gain the powers of wizardry and immortality from the god you chose to serve. By picking up things and dumping them over the edge of the world you will please your god and therefore gain experience. The gods will sometimes give you a quest instead of experience. When you complete that quest, your god will make your body and mind stronger and you will have reached yet another step on your path towards immortality.
