I have been a long term player of Legends of Terris since I came across it on AOL when I was 14, and over the years through its independence from AOL, I continue to play. At 30 I find that I sometimes enjoy a game now and then and this is one of the first games I think of. While many text games are alike, train stats,do quests, kill stuff, and level up, Terris stands out to me because of its extraordinary roleplay and rather unique utilization of stats. If you are a hack and slash text game player, or a casual player or a roleplay devotee, Terris has something for almost everyone. The heart of Legends of Terris are its players and Immortal staff. There are many epic storylines that are current in the lands and a Message Board system is used for some roleplay as well as extensive roleplay within the lands. We as players, in our choices in polls and through participation in roleplay events, may even change whats happening in those stories themselves. Invasions from Dark Elves, chaos Storms that destroy the Guilds and break their magicks, there is bound to be a story for everyone to enjoy. For the hack and slasher - There are several forms of experience gain, such as Land Levels, Guild Ranks, City Ranks, and Temple Ranks. There are 16 races, 9 classes, 15 Guilds and 9 (current) temples to choose from. With so many choices you can just imagine the type of characters you can create. A bow wielding Berserker in the Rangers or and Two-Handed Sword wielding Sorcerer, there are many combinations, each with its own perks and flaws. There are many ways to equip your adventurer. Most Guilds have programs for active participation in Guild Ranking or participating in guild roleplay events, where you can earn gold or equipment. Armorsmithing - Players can craft armor, like Steel Plate Helms or Mithril Breastplates Weaponsmithing - Players can craft weapons, like a Double-Headed Death Axe or a Black Mithril Broad Sword Guild Equipment - Gear earned when achieving the appropriate Guild Rank, purchased with gold. Temple Equipment - Earned through RP with Temple Mounts - Many mounts to choose from, Guild, Temple and regular. Arcana - Craft arcana pieces for crafting items Jeweler - Craft jewelery that has helpful stats and can be enchanted by some casters! Herbalism - Mix herbs and seeds together to make healing, buffing, or curative herbs While there is the element of hack-and-slash, the Roleplay is really the reason to stay. The more players that come and stay within the lands of Norrath, the more events that can happen, and the larger the events can be. Legends of Terris is a challenge, and I extend that challenge to other people, that might just be looking for something new to give a go. The staff and players are nice and a lot of attention is given to the game in terms of fixes updates...

I have been playing Legends of Terris since 1998. When I first started I was a bit lost. The world is expansive and full of players. I created an Elf Fighter. You dont start in a guild, rather you have to complete a specific quest to gain entry into the guild you wish to join, so I joined the Knight's guild. People are beginner friendly and always happy to help. Many of us are on daily for long expanses of time so we are reliable when it comes to help. The staff (Heros and Immortals and the occasional Legend) are about on regular basis and will help when needed as well. Stories, plots, and rps take place on a regular basis and we have a boards where you can talk OOC and rps also take place IC. The world is ever changing and there is a huge amount of Items, Armor, Weapons. You can learn skills such as Poison to coat blades with, you can learn enchantments to put on weapons like web, lightening, etc. You get mounts, you can join temples a follow immortals. You can even join households. Everything is player run with the help of those on high. Guild Masters, Guild Officers, Temple Leaders, House Hold leaders, all are players themselves. Many different races, lots of classes, and tons of play value. We hope to see you about, if you do chose to join us, you can find me as Phyr, a Dark Elf Warlock, or Quass, the knight aforementioned. OK! Hope to see you around!
Terris is probably one of the most indepth muds i have ever played in 20 years of playing muds. It is the only place i can go, and feel like an actual ogre and build my own legend. Staff is great. There are always new things being released. The current playerbase is very helpful. There are literally thousands of quests, and the best part of it, even after 14 years of playing, i find new things everyday i didn't know about. My hat is off to OGC; thank you for a wonderful world to get away to. Mesaslave -
Used to be a great game, until its greedy creators started charging FIFTEEN DOLLARS A MONTH for it. Use this money on a real MMORPG with graphics. Games like Terris should be free, donation based, or one-time membership fee at the most. NOT FIFTEEN FRIGGIN DOLLARS A MONTH. Terris had 600+ people on at a time when it was free, now during peak hours you're lucky to see 40 people. These people are addicts and can't give it up, that's the only reason they stay. They don't use real customer service but instead insist on 100% always roleplaying and thus think they are actual GODS (even in customer service queries). So you have to bow and be polite or you get a smite or something. The good part? Aside from the staff and the money they rob from you, this game is quite possibly one of the best games ever written in concept. The story, the descriptions, the monsters, the items, the places, everything about it is exactly as a traditional Sword/Sorcery RPG should be. The community complemented this well in the past when everyone would roleplay and you felt like you were immersed in a realm of fantasy. Now you are paying $15 a month to sit in a ghost town. My suggestion - OGC Staff/Creators - stop charging an obscene amount. Allow donations, freeplay, or a one-time membership fee (like buying a computer game) of $20-40 or something. Make no mistake, Terris is by far the best game a game can be in text form, and the world itself will draw you in like butter. However, it is not worth what you pay, and the staff are socially inept and have the worst online bully complex you'll ever see. If you're a millionaire, play it. If $15/mo matters, spend it on something worth it.
I've been playing Terris for over 8 years now and I still love it. As far as I'm concerned Legends of Terris is the home of roleplay on the internet. The user interface is beautifully engineered and easy to use even for no-brainers like me. It's a must try.
Legends of Terris - overall: probably worth a look. At a most basic level: 1. Once hosted on AOL and did really well there. So much so, AOL made it a premium game. It has since made the break to the internet 2. Costs £8.99 a month to play (a hangover from the AOL days). This is probably the biggest drawback, since its a bit much in my view. For your £8.99 you get 3 characters and unlimited play. It would be better if it was free, or if the company in charge cannot give that up - some better pricing options or just a lot cheaper. 3. Game is MASSIVE. Estimate around 15,000 rooms. Players have got to about 1k in monster species kills and 1k in quests - but there are probably more. 4. Player base is small and has mostly been playing since the AOL days. The game is slanted quite heavily towards the experienced players who also have the benefit of extra skills from the older days. 5. To connect you need to download a 'wizard' from the website - so cannot use ZMUD etc. The Terris Wizard is not compatible with MACs too. 6. Updates happen 1/2 months - but do not have a huge amount of content (though it is usually good quality additions). 7. The free trial is for 5 free logins - not really enough to experience a good part of the game, especially since to continue they want you to start paying! 8. Standard batch of classes and races - each with strengths and weaknesses. 9. While the playerbase is experienced - it is also quite into roleplay in selected groups. While this is a bit clique-ish, you can generally get involved in some really excellent roleplay events. Overall - I do quite like this game and in the past few months, it seems to be heading in the right direction with more staff being added to the ranks and a few more updates. Hopefully the management will continue to mitigate its weak points. I think its best feature has to be the amount of quests and areas to explore if you are into things like that. The fighting bit gets a bit repetitive in my view. The RP is also brilliant, if you are lucky enough to find it!
I have been playing Legends of Terris off and on for the last ten years. My character was one of the originals who first inhabited the game and I have written over a dozen short stories about most of my characters that I have made. Terris is a place for the true Role Player who wants to get deep into the character of his makings and craft them how they see fit. Anything from the Daemon Lords of Death to the Archangels of Light, we have it all in here. We also have a very unique combat system (unique being that it was the first to run with this style) and a great quest system that has over 2,000 quests to date. And that's not including Guild Specific Quests (which give you an average of about 20 extras to run). The Guilds are set up all over the game, but are very easy to find due to helpful players and help files that straight out give you directions to them. Each guild requires that you perform a small task in the form of a quest. Once you are in that guild, the Role Play that you have been craving will come out at you in full speeds. Most of the guilds have a set up mentoring system so you can figure out the role of your character and that you won't step over any rules the specific guild has in place. Some others, such as the Elitist Warlocks, do not, but they make up for that in their awesome powers and by having great support for those who truly wish the life they have chosen. I could ramble on for hours on the great features that Terris has available. Everything from their huge quest system to their combat style to the great staff who can help answer questions (with a bit of humor at times too). After all, the Staff is there to play also, since they were all at one time or another, players themselves. Go try out Terris, you get three characters per account and five free trials on each of those characters. If you just say in chats (not shouts, those are IC) that you are new and need help, you will get a quick response almost any time of the day. Legends of Terris is perhaps one of the most captivating games I have ever played in my life. I initially stumbled across the game when it was hosted on AOL's gaming server more than six years ago. When I discovered the game, it was free to play. I actually had to stop playing when they started charging because I had no realistic way to pay for it (I was only twelve years old). I stopped playing in 99' or 2000. The game never left my mind, though. In October of 2005, I found myself with the financial means to register a character. Since then, rarely a day goes by that I don't log in and play for AT LEAST an hour. This game is truly addicting. Though the game does cost roughly 15 dollars a month to register an account it is well worth the money. You are allowed three characters per account. Even playing three unique chartacters, it is IMPOSSIBLE to expereince every skill, spell, item or area. The game features 14 seperate guilds (each with their own skill, spell and item sets) as well as a "guild" for beginners to learn the mechanics of the game. Players are welcome to join both the starting "guild" and any other guild they wish. The game also currently features 16 races and 9 classes. Staff have also announced that there will soon be three classes added to the game PER GUILD via a remort feature. As it stands, you can build your character up to level 300 and guild level 255. Once remort is implemented, this feat can be accomplished twice. Aside from guilds, players are welcome to join Temples and Households of their choosing. Terris is unique in that through roleplaying, everyone who plays the game has the power to ascend. The guilds are run by players. The temples are run by players. The households are run by players. Everyone has equal opportunity to rise and become the leaders of these organizations. If you roleplay consistently and well enough, it is even possible to ascend to Hero or Immortal status... You really need to experience the game for yourself, though. Download the wizard and log in. There are five free trials. I'll be suprised if you're not hooked after that. http://www.legendsofterris.com
Terris has really declined over the years. What was once the best MUD I had ever been a part of, is now but a sad and empty place. There is nearly no visible/active staff these days, which is not a huge surprise as they have managed to run the population down to about 23 people playing at one time - on a very good day! This is compared to over 1000 people back at the height of the game. I know of a couple former staff members (Valan and Sydney) that were not allowed to come back as staff after they had left on good terms. It's really a shame too, because there are maybe only one or two left that actually care to try and make any positive changes. You would think that they would at least lower the price to try and stimulate some excitement, but alas, I fear the days are numbered... a shame too.
Legends of Terris is unique. Its codebase is a work of art. Yet, it lacks one of the fundamental aspect that other MUDs of this age still have: a cohesive and communicative staff. Without its main backbone of support, Terris has slowly spiraled down into a realm of a "last man standing" game. Terris made its debut in the mid-1990's on the America Online gaming server. There, it received hailed reviews and much needed attention for two very talented creators. With peak operation holding over a thousand simultaneous players, Terris was a main contender against competitors such as Simutronics and the budding game that made its debut in 1997, Achaea, Dreams of Divine Lands (Iron Realms). America Online pursued the $19.95 monthly plan c. late 1990's and whether it was a cause for the gaming section of the service to start charging customers is in question. Nevertheless, Terris pursued charges of 8.99 British pounds soonthereafter (i.e. approximately $14-15 US), suffering inevitable playerbase incursions. The drop was significant enough to incite the game creators to e-mail all players, stating "Terris is still here..." and other pleas for return. Terris disbanded itself from the holds of America Online and went public on the world wide web. Although they did host the move free of charge for players, without the exposure from AOL, Terris was already travelling in a realm of the hardcore industry. There, it became Legends of Terris, as it is known today. An allegedly corrupt staff base may have been the cause for disunity among the design team. Many accounts of staff abuse have been documented (A. J. White, G. Cha, et. al.). As Legends of Terris progressed from 2001-2004, staff became more and more detached from the lands. Eventually, communication appeared to cease (e.g. the State of the Nation -- an update message given by Terris Operations (TerrisOps), ceased October 15, 2004). Like the Great Depression, a small band of remaining players attempted to salvage what home they had left, but it appears that their pleas were not heard. Peak player readings from America Online ranged from 1000-1500, after pay-to-play was introduced the numbers dropped to about 200-300. Today, Terris stands among all the other DikuMUD and SMAUG derivatives, holding approximately 20-50 players at one time. Players that once joined guilds and other organizations filled with people can now join and be the sole member online. Minor changes are made every so often, but it is clear that many changes (spelling errors, broken quests, and other eccentricities) go without aid from staff. It is my firm belief that Terris is not undergoing natural MUD death from its generation of players (i.e. players are fulfilling their Hero's Journey complex). The fall of Legends of Terris is a direct result of the staff base pulling away, tearing open a wound in the game that only left a fractured staff institution to aid the remaining "till-the-end" members of the community.
this game sucks, dont waste your time with it, plus it costs money, no mud is worth money especially this one, and if you think this mud is bad, dragonrealms, sharune, dreamsmud, achaea, they are all pretty bad. stay away from em.
Terris is excellent. In my 5/6 years of playing, I still haven't had a character in every guild; you need 5 accounts or so to even understand how incredibly diverse it is. The playerbase is dwindling , yes.. but then, i've seen it happen before, and seen it come back. Mostly, the players are friendly; the game system is very easy to learn (as the saying goes, "a few minutes to learn, a lifetime to master.") and you really can carve a legend for yourself. There are diverse RPs, loads of monsters and quests, and, my personal favorite, over a thousand items. The bitter reviews before mine, by people who appear to be annoyed that certain staff members didn't give them everything they asked for, should be ignored. If you're interested in MUDs, give Terris a try - it has 5 free trials. Whether you're the hardcore RPer, the type who likes to sit around and socialise (like me), or the rocet type, you can do anything in Terris - and, if you devote enough time and effort to it, you really can become an immortal. www.legendsofterris.com Drakith, Sovereign of the Damned, Drone of Death.
Terris is addictive. Anyone who stays long enough knows what I mean. The advertisement of where you can become a Legend and be the best and hang out with the Heroes, Immortals, yadda yadda? It's true. You can, in fact, become a Legend of Terris, a Hero, a Baron, an Immortal, but you have to do it with hard work and dedication. You can't just waltz in and expect it to happen. Most players who are part of Staff have been playing for years and years. They're dedicated to the Game and what it represents, not just what it does: bring entertainment. The roleplay is always excellent, the gaming portions are always a challenge, and there are quests! So, so many quests that meet your riddle-me-this expectations that you can go wide eyed as if in a candy shop! Look out Willy Wonka, here comes Terris Quests! Have an inclination to create? Want to kill things? Or just have some hot cocoa and cookies in front of a fire while listening to tales of old battles and dead guys? Well, you can find that and more. Want to get married, have kids, run a town, build a business? Well, sure you can do that too! Anything is possible here. Anything. Trust me. If you think it, you can do it. That is the incredible draw of Terris. That is why I play, and will continue to play, till I'm old, tired, and dust.
What can i say, i'm not for writing much. I have been playing terris for longer than i care to remember, 7/8 years somewhere around there. Over the years i have had anything from 1 to 5 accounts going at any one time. There is so much to do, so much to explore, that 3 chracters just isn't enough . Yes i'm hooked yes i admit it, and yes i admit terris has it's own problems. Some broken rooms, some broken quests, etc.. but there is so much there for you to do and explore i think you'd need to be playing at least a couple of years before you'd even find some of the bugs. If you can ignore a few prats, make up your own mind, then come play terris, it really is great. Gary Millamber, Farseer of Magic Wizards Guild Master, Lord of Illiyarn.
Terris is an unique MUD in many ways. There of course are the complaints, as you might see in the other reviews. However, Terris is and has always been about the RP and the People. Everything else is second. Yes, the game is filled with hundreds of quests, thousands of rooms, and a myriad of items and monsters. More then a dozen Guilds, Races, and Classes. However, it is when these elements are combined to form good solid RP and a friendly atmosphere that Terris really and truly comes to life. I would suggest however that everyone experience Terris for their own. Enjoy the game on your own accord, before you let anyone else ruin it for you. Before you let anyone else's negative outlook on the game or the staff or the players determine your fate there, let YOUR outlook on all three determine it. Terris isn't perfect, but life isn't perfect, I make the best I can out of Terris, and have never had as much fun ANYWHERE I've EVER played, and that is the honest to God truth. When you let the negative bring you down, that is exactly what is going to happen. When you ignore the negative, and play for you, and play for your fun, you're going to have more fun then I could ever describe. Terris is full of RP, and great Staff. If you let one or two of the negative things staff do affect your play time, you're not going to have fun. If you let some RP you don't like force you into a cycle of disliking the game, that's what's going to happen. If you just enjoy the fact that there ARE staff who care and ARE people who RP, you'll enjoy every second of your time. Again, let YOURSELF be your judge, and have a great experience. Feel free to look me up in game and ask me ANY questions you may have, no matter how "Dumb" you might think they are, because I can assure you, I won't agree that they're dumb. Email me any time if you have any questions about the game, and I'll do my best to answer them. (brotherprexus@aol.com) See you all in game! -Prexus
Terris...What can you say about a game this involved? Most people log in here and leave after the first week without seeing the true potential withing the game. Yes, you CAN influence things to happen here. Be Active, RP your best, and sometimes even being in the right place at the right time can make your gaming experience quite unique! This place has thousands of quests, over or very close to a thousand different monsters to kill, numerous guilds and numerous cities and towns to base your character's roleplay on. What more could you want? Everything is pretty much laid out for you when you start playing so you know what you should start by doing and there are always people to help you out if you need it! If you want to try a mud that will suck you in and then you wont want to get out, I'd try Legends of Terris! Once you feel everything this place has to give you wont want to leave! Besides even you, a newer person that stays around long enough might even become a staff member someday! Most of the staff that I've seen within the game are actually people that you've known and helped or hunted or even was friends with that person! Well take your time and try this place out... Really the choice is up to you... If you want to take it: WWW.LegendsOfTerris.com Ron(Icly) aka Zach
I can't truthfully say that Terris is the best MUD on the internet. After all the hundreds of MUDs I've tried in my 8 years of MUDing, I've not found the best. Terris is the best newbie MUD, however. If you're new to these types of games, than it's perfect for you. The commands are fairly easy to figure out, the systems of the game arn't overly complex. There's no need to worry about food, drink, or sleep. The skill training system is also fairly simple. Nearly everything you need is either shown to you or in help files somewhere. This lack of complexity doesn't make it an easy game, however. There are still challenges and all that instore for you. As previously pointed, there are lots of quests. Some, yes, are broken. Others are such a challenge that some players lack the intellect to solve them. But isn't that just how life is sometimes? About the staff... The player base has dwindled, as has the number of staff in the game. While I've rarely had an issue with staff myself, some other players seem to have. While I won't take from anyone's personal experience, I'll just say this: Find me a game where *no one* has had issues with staff members. If you can do this, then I'd be overly impressed. While it is difficult to get staff motivated with player events, they are there. Mind you, there are some 'players' who appear to look like staff. They hold powers, but they're not full staff members. These are Barons. While most barons are nice and professional, some (mainly one) can be less than professional. As far as updates go, over the last 7 years of playing Terris I have seen the game change dramatically. While updates arn't fired off every week or so, they do happen. Perhaps if more players gave the game a try, the owners would be motivated to do more? And that does bring me to players... This is by far the only negative thing I have to say about the game. In Terris, there three types of players. You have the good players, the roleplayers, the ones that try to make the game fun for themselves AND others, rather at the expense of others. This sort of player is beginning to dwindle... They are being replaced by the next type of player, the non-roleplaying players. These are the ones that really keep to themselves and only care about what their stat numbers look like. While this is fine, the fact that this makes up for a large percentage of the playerbase makes Terris more stale. The last type are the gits. The morons. Those who sit there and do nothing bit complain about staff, the game, and what they think life should be like. These are the players who have no care for allowing the game to grow. The don't help other people, and if possible, they make other's lives miserable. These the...

This game has alot to offer. It's a chat room! (Course it has the same rules as the AOL 6-12 year old chat rooms, but all adults like being monitored like they are 6 don't they?) It has thousands of rooms! (most of which show the quality education system in the 4th grade spelling level that is prevalent) It has thousands of quests! (course many of which are broken or never worked, but you didn't play here to actually achieve anything did you?) It has active staff! (Ok well it has a few who bother to show up, the rest just pop in long enough to treat you like they really ARE gods in real life and you should kiss their backsides) Players can attain Godhood! (FEW and far between but it does happen and only those who are 'middle of the road' and kiss backsides get it, cause we all know a roleplay game shouldn't have roleplayers as staff... how silly would that be?) You can talk privately to your friends in the wonderful chat system! (But don't forget that "no room is private" and its a staff spectator sport to 'snoop' players private conversations and watch everything they do and say then pass the information along to other players) Account privacy! (Unless you annoy one of the overated and overego'ed then they tell any of their friends your account information, but you didn't really want personal privacy, did you?) Thousands of items and coolio skills and spells! (Don't get too attached to them though because at any time without notice they can, and will be, turned into garbage or removed from you while you 'sleep' without any explanation, without any reimbursment for the points you spent to buy them, without any reimbursement for the gold you spent buying the item, and without any replacements with something of equal value) Regular Updates! (If you consider once every 6 months regular then this is perfect for you) All in all yes this game has it all. AND... you can get all this for the glorious price of approx. $15.00 a month for 3 characters... for a text mud no less. Yep why play those big pesky mmorpgs that have working content, stunning graphics, pvp, rvr, weekly updates, and land masses it would take you days to walk across as opposed to 30 seconds to go from one end to the other here, and cost LESS money per month? Yep. it has it all. Good Gaming!
A single staff member can make or break a game. This game has everything a player could ask for as far as quests, updates, roleplay and good friends but as long as Snazzle remains as staff, there will be backstabbing, bashing and behind the scenes manipulations that make the game far less than fun. I wouldn't recommend the game to new people as long as her (Snazzle) and her friends control the game.
While I admit Im a player of this mud for well over 7 years (it just hooked me on aol) this was my very first MUD game. I was enthralled by the players about, all the cool spiffy things and the way everyone was always helping and interacting. Over the years the population has declined but Terris still holds that magic for me. Its a place where one can come and play and indeed make a legend for themselves. The staff are back in action, interacting and coming up with new rps. The players are more interactive than ever and their voices are being heard. We get to help shape the future of the lands and many get to help behind the scenes. All in all the game is getting much better and we have many more exciting things planned. Give us a try...what can you lose? Lourdes Darwinian Half Ogre Sorcerer GL of Enchanters Guild Minister of Magic (TL) of Temple of Magic (Raislin) Lord of Goldcroft (Best city around!!!!) I have played in Terris for some 8 years, and over the couse of this time, I have been elated to find such wonderful roleplayers andd great staff most of the time. I have seen many staff come and go, some, I approved, some actually felt like I was loosing a friend. Terris can be a wonderful place when staff allows you the freedom of RP and joins in as well. In the last 6 months I have ceased playing. Some of the staff (actually one in particular) have gotten a "GOD" complex and feel the need to interfere in things that do not concern them. They is such blantant favortism it makes me wanna "hurl" as they say. Bring back the days of Anlin and Elantara.. of Worcester and Haddion, Bremmy and Finn and Kyria, when the game meant something, instead on one controlling mind who assimilates everything in its path with threats and false promises. Bring back the freedom of good RP. ...just an opinion of couse........ one that will be lost on those who are in control, because its about money now, not fair play or roleplay.
Terris is fantastic in just about every aspect. It has countless areas to play, an extremely large amount of monsters, Great spell/skill listings and quests galore! I do have to agree with the first review on staff favoritism though. One staff member in particular who enjoys powerplaying way too much, if you are her friend you can have anything you want game-wise. Just be warned and enter with your eyes open as she has driven many great roleplayers and staff alike to leave the game completely from her manipulations and mindgames both IC and OOC.
Legends of Terris is a excelent community. The majority of the older players are very helpful in assisting the Newbies.
This is by far and away the best mud going. The world is beautifully created, with loads of detail in every room. I really can loose several hours of my life without even knowing it. If you want a true RP experience, look no further!
I've found this game to be possibly one of the most enthrawling games around. The people have varying personalities, and the game is constructed so that both those that enjoy hunts, quests, and most importantly, those that enjoy sitting around and roleplaying can find a home. The staff are willing to help players in their roleplays and the players are usually very willing to help a newbie out. The history of the lands if full of depth and legends. A real piece of art.
Despite what others say, who apparently are having a bad day, this game is a great place to enjoy. If you're a fighter type, they've got you covered. Magic? Go for it. Just want to Role-play? We have it made! I've played this game for nearly seven years. It's kept me entertained, given me a huge role-play environment, and I've met so many people that my characters family tree and life line are rather scary and massive in size. The Monsters are always up for a great run, the characters are always up for a great challenge, and role-play is excellent. For those who complain, let me say this. Grow up and move on. Life isn't about getting everything you want. The Immortals are always there to aid you when you need it the most, or smear you into the ground when you've done a dummy. I love this realm, and I wouldn't trade it for any other!
Puzzles to solve, places to explore, creatures to fight, and some of the most interesting people and stories I've ever known. This is a game with something for everyone. The roleplay is diverse and interesting, and there's room for players to create stories of their own, and plenty of help available to anyone who wants to. I get sucked in, and lose hours of my day without even blinking.
I've been playing Terris for... gods, five years has it been now? It's a place that I've never stopped enjoying. Yes, there are rough points now and then, but there is always an event to keep you interested, or an RP to help develop your character. A helping hand for those that are newcomers.
This is the first time I have done a review so please, bare with. I have been playing Terris for about 6 years now and have been away from it for the past 9 months. When you play terris you are sucked into the realm and are involved with the people who you interact with. Relationships with people all around the world grow from hunting and figuring out quests together. All in all terris is a tight group of people who allthou might not look like they all get along, at one time or another have helped eachother out. Personaly I do not know if I shall ever stop playing terris... and I see nothing wrong with that. Thank you.
Never in my life have I been sucked into something as facinating, and truely entertaining as Terris! It was the first MUD I had played 5 years ago, and after trying many others still feel its the best. I recently started playing again after a long hiatus, and have to say that it is still as amazing, if not better. If you are into RP games, or even a fan of fantisy in the least, you really have to give this one a shot.
This is the worst MUD I have ever played. In the beginning it was good, the code base is good, it's just that the staffing is horrible. Staff picks their favorite players and does as they wish and are biased. People are allowed to go around and badmouth others behind their backs, but said other is not allowed to defend themselves. Often, instead of disbanding conflicts before it erupts into something bigger, they will sit and wait until someone blows up and then give them a severe punishment. Staff also uses the excuse "I was busy doing something else and didnt see it" as an excuse to punish one party and not the other. So in other words, if you wish to be abused, go ahead and play this game.
